Lakes Community Credit Union is a different kind of financial institution. We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative, which means all of our earnings are returned to the membership in the form of high-return savings and low-rate loans. Because we are owned by our members, the membership is our top priority. We are committed to providing our members with friendly, professional services at the lowest cost possible.

The credit union serves as a financial resource for members using their pooled assets. Members' deposits are called "shares" because, in essence, that is exactly what they are. This money is then lent out to other members, and the interest paid by borrowers goes back to members in the form of dividends on their shares. That's the "people helping people" principle upon which the credit unions are based!

Anyone living or working in Oakland County or retirees within 50 miles of any branch may join the credit union simply by depositing $5 into a Share Account. Our field of membership includes people living or working in Oakland County and families of current members. Once you join, membership at your credit union can last a lifetime.
